After Pace, Regina moved to a farm in PA, raised ponies, fox hunted, taught lessons and judged horseshows. At Pace she coached many IHSA Champions in both Hunt seat and western equitation. She has taught at University of Massachusetts, Midland Riding Center in GA, and was the Director of Equine Studies at Pace University for 15 years. In England and in her subsequent equestrian career, she trained with several Olympic Coaches, including Christopher and Jane Bartle (UK Eventing and Dressage), Jack LeGoff (Eventing), Col Bengt Lungquist (Dressage), Gabor Foltenyi (Hungary- Eventing), Michael Page (USA Eventing), and other Olympic riders and nationally known hunter/jumper judges. She is a British Horse Society Instructor. She holds BA and MA degrees from East Carolina University. She has lived in England and Ethiopia, visited over 40 countries, and lived in 7 Atlantic Coast states. Her love of horses has taken her around the world, and her travels have broadened her knowledge of horsemanship and have also influenced her art. Currently she is working on a children’s book about a pony she once owned.īACKGROUND: Born in Pennsylvania, Regina is a world traveler. Her paintings may be seen around Central Brevard from time to time as she participates in Art in Public Places and juried gallery shows.Īs a writer Regina has published numerous poems and articles on equine topics in national magazines. Using her art to raise money for charities, she works with Hidden Acres Rescue for Thoroughbreds, with Art for HART, (a donation is made to HART for every animal portrait commissioned through HART) and had 2 successful raffles of animal portraits to benefit Harmony Farms Therapeutic Riding Center. OFF THE CLOCK: Regina retired to Cocoa in 2010 and lives in Cocoa near the beautiful Indian River Lagoon with her dog, Molly Moodle and cat Dusty Hemmingway.Īlways interested in art, Regina is a member a local art league. She believes in the Pony Club motto: A happy rider on a happy horse! She takes a problem solving attitude towards training horses, and uses classical progressive exercises to achieve horse and rider goals. This diverse background has brought her to believe and to teach good horsemanship is more alike than different. She was hunt staff for Foxhunting and has played arena polo. She has done Eventing, shown Hunters and Jumpers, and Ladies Sidesaddle. She has started and taken to competition level over 40 horses and ponies. Regina has been a professional horsewoman since the age of 17. She is happy to share a lifetime of professional equestrian experience with the next generation of riders and trainers.
